Freedom of Information and Data Protection
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 entitles any person that requests information held by a Scottish public authority to receive it - unless that information is subject to any of the exemptions contained in the Act.
If you wish to access information that the Parliament holds about you, a request must be made under the Data Protection Act.
Making a Freedom of Information request
Before you make a Freedom of Information request, you may want to check whether the information you are seeking is already published by the Parliament. You can do this by checking the Parliament's Publication Scheme.
If you cannot find the information you are looking for in the Scheme, please complete one of the forms below:

If you wish to find out what requests have been made to the Parliament under the Freedom of Information Act, and access information released as a result of these requests, please click here to access the Parliament's Disclosure Log.
Publication Scheme
The Act requires that each Scottish public authority produces a Publication Scheme which sets out the categories of information the authority publishes, the manner in which it is published and details of any charges for accessing the information. The Parliament's Scheme is available here:
The Parliament's FOI Specialist
would welcome any comments you might wish to make about the Publication Scheme or the information covered by it.
