Privacy and Data Protection

The Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (“the SPCB”) is a data controller under the Data Protection Act 1998 and as such and must process personal data according to the requirements of that Act. Any personal data that you pass to us irrespective of format, will be processed in a way that is lawful and fair. It will not be processed in any way that is incompatible with the principles of the Data Protection Act. It will only be used for the purposes for which you have provided this information. It will only be held onto for as long as necessary for these purposes. It will not knowingly be passed to a third party for further processing unless we have your consent to do so or we are legally obliged to do so.

Confidentiality

The SPCB has a legal duty to protect the confidentiality of information which we obtain from you in accordance with legislation such as the Data Protection Act.
