The Presiding Officer will lead delegation of David McLetchie MSP, Michael McMahon MSP, Donald Gorrie MSP and Kenny MacAskill MSP to undertake meetings in New York, Washington DC, Ottawa and Québec as part of the Tartan Day 2004 celebrations. Delegation will meet with a wide range of officials and government representatives to promote Scotland and build political, cultural and economic relations. |

President Bissonnet |
Assembly delegation of Speaker Bissonnet, the 2 House leaders, 2 whips, plus their Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary-General will visit the Scottish Parliament, Westminster and Assemble National of France. The visit to the Parliament will look devolution, how the Parliament operates, it's procedures and rules, the role of the Petitions Committee and to compare the differences/similarities between the 4 institutions. |

50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, hosted by the Canadian Branches of the CPA. The Scotland Branch sent Andrew Welsh MSP as delegate and Cathy Peattie MSP as observer with the Secretary of the CPA (Wales Branch) providing the accompanying Secretary. |

Dan Hays |
Dan Hays, President of the Canadian senate visited the Scottish parliament from 8-12 October primarily to attend the official opening ceremony for the new building. On Monday 11 the President met Members to discuss general issues in relation to oil and gas exploration in Scotland . |

National Assembly of Quebec |
3 or 4 day visit of a cross-party delegation from the National Assembly of Quebec, made up of 4 members and a secretary. The visit would include bi-lateral meetings on a number of issues with MSPs. There would also be a cultural programme which would take them outwith Edinburgh. |
