Initiated through the office of Helen Eadie MSP in conjunction with the Scotland and Europe cross-party pro European Campaign Group. This is a return visit by Swedish MPs, subsequent to an outward visit by MSPs to the Swedish Parliament during their recent referendum on joining the Euro. The main focus of the programme is an overview of the Scottish Parliament and its' experiences of devolution but also includes a meeting with the Presiding Officer. |

A delegation of Civil Servants from the Personal Association of the Swedish Parliament will visit the Scottish Parliament to meet with counterparts and receive an overview of the structure of the Scottish Parliament. The delegation expressed a specific interest in the Committee system, Information Services and Security and relevant meetings have been organised. In addition, the External Liaison Unit will give the delegation a presentation on The Scottish Parliament and Devolution. Edinburgh was chosen for the 2004 Annual Meeting and the scholars will receive a tour of the Scottish Parliament on Saturday 6 November. |

Scotland in Sweden Week |
Presiding Officer led a small group of Conveners (Enterprise and Lifelong Learning and Education and Culture Committees). 3 days of events being held in Sweden with particular reference to Life Sciences, inward investment and culture. They will visit the Swedish Parliament and attend a lunch hosted by the Speaker. Presiding Officer will attend and speak at a Seminar on Governance. |
