His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama

His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet will lead Time for Reflection followed by an address and question and answer session with MSPs and other invited guests in Committee Room 1.   After which His Holiness will have an audience with schoolchildren from across Scotland.   Presiding Officer will host a lunch with party leaders and leaders of Scottish faiths.

Quebec, Canada

Assembly delegation of Speaker Bissonnet, the 2 House leaders, 2 whips, plus their Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary-General will visit the Scottish Parliament, Westminster and Assemble National of France. The visit to the Parliament will look devolution, how the Parliament operates, it's procedures and rules, the role of the Petitions Committee and to compare the differences/similarities between the 4 institutions.

Ms Eveline Herfkens

United Nations

Ms Eveline Herfkens, United Nations Secretary General's Executive Coordinator for the Millennium Development Goals Campaign will be the guest speaker at the International Development Group's meeting in Edinburgh on Wednesday 30 June.   Ms Herfkens has expressed an interest in meeting with Members of the Finance Committee and other appropriate Members and officials.
