01.02.05 British Irish Inter Parliamentary Body Sub Committee C BIIPB Bruce Crawford MSP, as Associate Member of the BIIPB's Committee C, will travel to London to participate in a Committee study visit as part of their Inquiry into "The Effects of EU Enlargement on Small Farms". 1
08.02.05 Jean Claude Marcourt Belgium Jean Claude Marcourt, Minister for Economy and Employment of the Walloon Region, Belgium will briefly visit the Scottish Parliament whilst in Scotland for meetings with the Scottish Executive and other organisations in Glasgow . The programme will include a meeting with the Presiding Officer. 1
09.02.05 Middle Eastern delegation Various Professional and academic women from various Middle Eastern countries will visit the UK and guests of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office with the aim of promoting women's participation in civil society. While at the Scottish Parliament they will meet with Members from across the parliament to discuss many issues relating to women in politics, civil society etc. 2
09.02.05 Assemble Nationale delegation France Philippe Auberger, President of the France-UK Friendship Group and a delegation of Parliamentarians from the Assemble Nationale will visit the Scottish Parliament to meet with Members to discuss health, education, enterprise and European issues, as well as learn about procedures and legislation in the Scottish Parliament. Included also in the programme will be a meeting with the Presiding Officer. 2
10.02.05 Cuban delegation Cuba As part of a UK wide visit a delegation from Cuba 's National Assembly of People's Power will meet with the Parliament's Cross Party Group on Cuba . They will also receive a briefing, Parliament tour and observe First Minister's Question Time. 1
10.02.05 CPA Visit South Africa / Malawi A cross-party group of 6 MSPs (Ted Brocklebank MSP, Denis Canavan MSP, Karen Gillon MSP, Michael Matheson MSP and Mike Pringle MSP) led by Margaret Ewing MSP will visit the South African provinces of Gauteng and the Eastern Cape and will also visit Malawi. A full programme for the visit is being pulled together and more details will follow. 14
11.02.05 Edna Kenny TD Ireland Edna Kenny TD, Leader of the Fine Gael Party, will visit the Scottish Parliament whilst in Scotland and will meet with Members of the British Irish Interparliamentary Body. 1
14.02.05 British Irish Inter Parliamentary Body, Sub Committee B BIIPB Scottish Parliament Members of the BIIPB's Sub Committee B will travel to Cardiff for a study visit as part of the Committee's Inquiry into "The Use of Cross Border European Funding". 2
20.02.05 British Irish Inter Parliamentary Body, Sub Committee D BIIPB Iain Smith MSP, as Member of the BIIPB's Committee D, will travel to London to participate in a Committee D study visit as part of their Inquiry into "Special Needs Education Across the Islands". 2
21.02.05 National Assembly of Québec Canada 5 interns from the National Assembly of Québec will visit the Scottish Parliament as part of UK wide two week programme to meet with Members and officials. 4
25.02.05 Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters Norway A delegation of senior officers - including the Secretary General - from the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters will visit the Scottish Parliament whilst in Edinburgh to meet with the Royal Society of Edinburgh to discuss possible joint future activities. The delegation will meet with officials in the Parliament to discuss the Scottish Parliament and devolution, as well as issues in regard to education and science. (Visit to be confirmed) 1
