27 October 2004: Presiding Officer George Reid receives a poppy from the Very Reverend Dr James Harkness, Earl Haig Fund Scotland President. More pictures from Poppy Appeal launch	22 April 2004: Presiding Officer George Reid has announced that the opening of the new Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood will be held on Saturday 9 October. Speaking from the Chair, he said: "It will be a day for the whole community of Scotland - a day for quiet Scottish dignity."
