Welcome to our Gender Equality Scheme web page. Here you will find information about how we developed our Gender Equality Scheme, a copy of the Scheme and information on the new responsibilities placed on the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB) to actively promote gender equality and eliminate sex discrimination.

From April 2007 the Gender Equality Duty places a duty on all public bodies to effectively promote gender equality and eliminate sex discrimination. This duty places positive, proactive responsibilities on all public organisations to work towards a more equal society by embedding gender equality into the way in which they carry out their functions and to demonstrate that they treat men and women fairly.
