On 19 December 2006 I received a metal badge from Scottish Racing. This badge entitles to bearer to admittance to any race staged in Scotland during 2007 and it not available to purchase. Scottish Racing estimates its value to between £501 and £1000.

On 30 May 2008 my wife and I attended the MS Scotland Ball having received two tickets (valued at £350 each) from the MS Society Scotland (based at Ratho Park, 88 Glasgow Road, Ratho Station, Midlothian, Newbridge, EH28 8PP). MS Scotland is a charity that raises awareness of the condition MS, funds research into the condition and seeks to persuade Government to take action to address the condition. The value of the gift of two tickets from MS Scotland is between £501 to £1,000. [Registered 16 June 2008]

I work as a journalist participating in broadcasting and media events for which I receive income of between £501 and £1000 per annum. This work is of an occasional nature.

There was a donation to my election fund of £500 from the Fire Brigade Union.

On 16 May 2007, I attended the UEFA Cup Final at Hampden Park as a guest of Scottish Power. This hospitality included transport to the fixture, attendance at the game, dinner and a gift of a commemorative decanter. The monetary value of this gift is less than £520.

On 24 August 2007, my wife and I attended the Edinburgh Military Tattoo (including dinner) as guests of British Airports Authority. The monetary value of this gift is less than £520. [Registered 27 September 2007]

On 27 November 2007 I attended a dinner at the University of Edinburgh at which I received a gift of a pair of cufflinks. The dinner and cufflinks were provided by the University of Edinburgh and are valued at no more than £100. [Registered 13 January 2008]
