The event is co-ordinated in the UK by CILT (the National Centre for Languages) and supported by the European Commission. |

The European Award for Languages recognises outstanding creativity in language teaching.
CILT patron Sir Trevor McDonald presented the awards.

There were two winning projects from Scotland.
Shawlands Academy in Glasgow won for their Litterhitters campaign. |

Heriot-Watt University won the special adult education prize for bringing together teenage learners, student interpreters and community figures in a multilingual debate.
