Presiding Officer hosts Hansard Society event

Presiding Officer George Reid MSP welcomed guests from the Hansard Society of Scotland to Holyrood on Tuesday 12 December.
During his speech Mr Reid discussed topics including the importance of public engagement with MSPs and the Parliament, the role of Scotland's Futures Forum, and the MSPs in Schools initiative.

| Chair of the Hansard Society, Lord Holme of Cheltenham, also spoke at the annual event. The society brings together MSPs, journalists, academics, teachers, workers in the private and voluntary sector, and others with an interest in democracy in Scotland. The Scottish Parliament works with the Hansard Society on the MSPs in Schools scheme, which allows students to meet and question politicians in the classroom.
