On Wednesday 21 March NASA astronaut Nick Patrick returned to Holyrood a Scottish Parliament saltire flag he took on his inaugural mission into space.

The British-born astronaut, whose mother is from Skye, took the flag on a 12-day construction and logistics mission to the International Space Station in December.
Presiding Officer George Reid received the flag from Nick Patrick on behalf of the Parliament, along with a collage featuring NASA emblem badges and images of the shuttle crew and the spacecraft in orbit. |
