Visit by the Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor,
Rt Hon Jack Straw MP
13 July 2007
The Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor, the Rt Hon Jack Straw MP, today visited the Scottish Parliament.
Following a courtesy call with Deputy Presiding Officer Alasdair Morgan MSP, he saw areas of the Parliament including the debating chamber and the Donald Dewar Room.
The Donald Dewar Room houses a collection of books and other memorabilia gifted to the Parliament by the family of Donald Dewar, who died in 2000.
It is a quiet study room for MSPs but is open to the public by appointment on Mondays and Fridays throughout the year.
The Lord Chancellor later met MSPs Gavin Brown, Margaret Curran, Mike Pringle and John Wilson.
