Business in the Parliament conference 2006
Business leaders from across Scotland came to Holyrood on 2 and 3 November 2006 to discuss the challenges the sector will face over the next four year parliamentary session, following the 2007 Scottish election.

The third Business in the Parliament conference, run jointly with the Scottish Executive, brought together business representatives, Executive ministers and MSPs from all parties.
Presiding Officer George Reid MSP welcomed delegates to the debating chamber on Thursday evening, when broadcaster Sarah Smith put questions to entrepreneur Sir Tom Farmer in an informal interview.
Speakers on Friday included:
Deputy First Minister and Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Nicol Stephen MSP; Convener of the Enterprise and Culture Committee Alex Neil MSP; Mary Dickson, Managing Director, First Scotrail and Gerry Rice, Deputy Director of Communications at the International Monetary Fund.
First Minister Jack McConnell MSP gave the conference’s closing speech.
